But that was rare. He was fiercely protective of his kids, and wanted them to be protected from the limelight. This is because he was exposed at such a young age, and had a lot of difficulties with accepting his appearance, particularly as a teenager. So, he didn't want the same for his kids. It sounds strange, but you can see it was for the protection and well being of his kids. They’ve actually been photographed before without the masks on.
